Phnom Penh (VNA) – Governor of Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Khuong Sreng has instructed relevant authorities to pay close attention to maintaining security and order during the torch relay of the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games. At a recent meeting with the relevant forces, including police and military from all the 14 districts, Sreng stressed that Cambodia has waited for 64 years to host the Games.
The torch will make its way to Cambodia through the Trapeang Kriel-Nong Nokkhiane border gate in Stung Treng province and continue through the provinces around the Tonle Sap Lake. The procession will arrive at Prek Anchanh Market, Bridge 12, National Road 6 in Kandal-Phnom Penh on April 28 evening.

Ny Phally, representative of the Cambodia SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), will hand over the torch to the municipal authorities as it heads to Wat Phnom.
Earlier, CAMSOC held a special security meeting to review reparations for the Games and analyse potential risks.
According to the committee, the Games will see athletes competing in 37 sports across 581 disciplines and ASEAN Para Games 12 with 13 sports.
With the slogan "Sports - Living in Peace", SEA Games 32 will take place from May 5-17 in the capital city of Phnom Penh and four other localities, namely Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep./.
