Hanoi (VNA) – The Mai Dich – Thang Long bridge section of Hanoi Ring Road No.3, the first stage, was opened to traffic on October 10 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the capital liberation.
As one of the urgent works that holds significance to the capital city, the project cost over 3.1 trillion VND (134.7 million USD) sourced from the city’s budget. It includes the expansion of Pham Van Dong road stretching as far as 5.5km together with pavements, greenery and lighting.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said the work contributes to easing traffic congestion and creates favourable conditions for the Transport Ministry to complete the Ring Road No.3 as approved by the Prime Minister.
He asked the project management board and units concerned to put the work into effective use, ensure traffic safety and environment hygiene./.
