Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam EducationPublishing House convened a workshop in Hanoi on March 16, seekingto gather international experience in compiling textbooks promoting learners’ ability.

The three-day event aims to improve awareness of modern approaches to teachingtheory, and theoretical basis for developing textbooks which will not only impart knowledge to students but also develop their capacity, skills and personality.

Experts from Germany’s Potsdam University and Finland’s Timepere University sharedissues related to curricula for promoting learners’ ability, focusing on theconcept and nature of ability development in education, the role of textbooks inpromoting ability of learners; basic indicators for analysing and assessing ability-developingtextbooks.

They also introduced the process for compiling textbooks of this kind, from formingideas, drafting outlines, compiling manuscripts, to revision and finalization worksbefore printing.

A similar workshop will be organised in Ho Chi Minh City from March 20-22.

This is part of the preparation of the Vietnam Education Publishing Housefor implementing its task to compile new textbooks, serving the generaleducation reform, towards promoting ability and virtue of learners.-VNA

Passengers to be compensated for flight delays from next month

Per the new decree, a flight is regarded as delayed when its actual departure time is more than 15 minutes later than the scheduled departure time. A “long delay” is defined as a delay of four hours or more from the scheduled departure time.

Over 3,400 administrative procedures, business conditions cut or simplified

Since April, the Government has issued 11 resolutions abolishing 56 conditional business lines. Compared to the 2025 Law on Investment, the number of conditional business sectors has been reduced by more than 28%, from 198 to 142. Unverified mobile subscriptions hit by service suspension from June 15
