Hanoi (VNA) – On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long has sent via the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam a video-recorded speech to Chinese people on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 – 2022).  

In his remarks, Long affirmed the bilateral friendship and neighbourliness, fostered by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong as well as generations of Vietnamese and Chinese leaders, have become a precious asset of the two Parties, States, and peoples.

Developing the countries’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification, the official stressed.

He said with delight that the bilateral ties grew stably and fruitfully last year.
Expressing his belief in the growth of the ties in the time to come, Long recommended Vietnamese and Chinese agencies at all levels and sectors reinforce common awareness of the two countries’ leaders about consolidating mutual trust and understanding, and promoting the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, particularly in economy-trade and disease prevention.

It is also necessary to promptly tackle problems arising in the joint works as well as create favourable conditions to facilitate two-way travel and transactions to nurture the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership toward sustainability and practical outcomes, the minister said.

On the occasion, Long extended his New Year and Lunar New Year greetings to people of both nations.

Meanwhile, in his video-recorded speech to mark the anniversary, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo lauded achievements of the ties over the past 72 years.

He stated the Chinese Party and State highly value the development of such neighbourly friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.
 
The diplomat noted China is willing to work with Vietnam to strengthen political trust, deepen substantive collaboration in all fields, and enhance exchanges and mutual understanding, opening up a new period in the relations between the two parties, countries and peoples./.
