Hanoi (VNA) – The Spring concert “Meeting with The World Music Talents” will take place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on April 17 and 18.
According to a recent announcement by the academy, on April 17, Stephane Tran Ngoc will perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto Op. 61, while Nguyen Viet Trung will play Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23.
Violinist Tran Ngoc has performed in more than 30 countries as soloist with some of Europe’s finest orchestras including the Radio - France Philharmonic, the Monte - Carlo Philharmonic and Japanese Shinsei Symphony Orchestra. He won Grand Prix and Special Audience Prize at the Long-Thibaud 1990 International Competition.
Pianist Trung, born in 1996 in Vietnam, grew up in Poland. He was one of the eight young pianists invited from all over the world to perform at the Junior Academy Eppan in Italy in 2013. He won second prize at the International Piano Competition Chopin for the Youngest in 2010 and the Grand Prix at the national piano competition in Kracow in 2014.
On April 18, international artist Eric Lu will stage Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20, while Kate Liu will perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 Op. 23.
Eric Lu, born in 1995, is a Chinese-American classical pianist. He first came to international attention as a prize winner at the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw at the age of 17. Later, he won the 2017 International German Piano Award and the US National Chopin Competition.
Kate Liu, born in Singapore, was the winner of a bronze medal at the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and of the special prize by the Polish Radio for the best performance of a Mazurka.
The academy’s Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the famous soloists in both shows.-VNA
