Hanoi (VNA) –
Two Indonesians who stabbed the country’s chief security minister on October 10 belong to IS-linked terror network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), said Indonesia’s State Intelligence Agency chief Budi Gunawan.

Speaking with reporters, Gunawan said they were members of JAD, an extremist group responsible for deadly suicide bombings.

Indonesian Chief Security Minister Wiranto was stabbed when he was visiting Pandeglang city in Banten province on the island of Java.

Images from police and television showed the minister was getting out of a car before he was attacked.

A man and a woman had been arrested and an officer had been hurt.

Indonesian officials confirmed that Wiranto is being treated in a hospital and his condition is stable.

Police have said that Wiranto was one of several targets in a previously failed assassination plot this year./.
