The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) signed in Hanoi on August 26 a cooperation deal on providing and disseminating information on the monetary and banking areas.
Apart from marking bilateral cooperation, the event is to help SBV and VNA fulfill their tasks as well as implement dissemination and provision of information to the public.
Under the deal, the SBV will provide VNA with information on monetary polices, banking operations and other banking-related documents as soon as possible. The bank will facilitate VNA units to access and use its information sources as well as jointly work with VNA to hold training courses on communicating the monetary and banking areas for VNA reporters and sub-editors.
For its part, VNA will launch special columns in its publications to introduce and disseminate banking-related documents and operations.
Addressing the signing ceremony, VNA General Director Tran Mai Huong stressed the two sides’ cooperation in dissemination of monetary and banking-related information, saying VNA attaches importance to information on the bank’s operations.
SBV Governor Nguyen Van Giau spoke highly of relations between the SBV and VNA, noting that banking-related news was sensitive and had potential impacts on the psychology of society and markets.
Cooperating with a prestigious press agency like VNA would help the SBV to quickly and accurately publicise information on monetary policies, banking operations and related documents, thus contributing to orienting public opinions, said Giau./.
