Hanoi (VNA) - Budget revenues were estimated at 230.5 trillion VND (about 10 billion USD) in the first quarter of this year, up 0.3 percent year on year and meeting 22.7 percent of collection goals, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said on March 31.

Domestic collection for the period was 193.8 trillion VND (8.42 billion USD), 24.7 percent of the annual estimate and 10 percent higher than the same period last year.

Meanwhile, budget spending was 277.59 trillion VND (about 12 billion USD) in the first quarter, up 5.4 percent from the same period last year and equivalent to 21.8 percent of the estimate for the year. Overspending stood at around 47 trillion VND, 18.5 percent of yearly estimates.

As of March 25, the MoF had mobilised nearly 69 trillion VND (about 3 billion USD) from Government bonds, accounting for 27 percent of the yearly target.-VNA
