State President Nguyen Minh Triet met with voters in districts 1 and 2 in HCM City on April 4 to listen to their opinions.

Thevoters highly valued the 12 th National Assembly’s operations in makingdecisions on the country’s important issues as well as its concernsabout the people’s living condition.

The NA has performed wellits law-making, supervision and diplomacy-related work, helping raisethe NA’s position and prestige and create trust in the people, thevoters said.

However, they pointed out shortcomings of the 12 thNA, such as slow law making, weakness in supervising economic groups’operation and the Land Law’s implementation. The 12 th NA was notsuccessful in fighting corruption, they said, adding that there arestill many difficulties in the people’s living conditions.

PresidentTriet thanked the voters for their confidence in the NA and the city’sNA deputy delegation, which, he said, encouraged the deputies to dotheir utmost to fulfil their role as the representatives of the people.

Hehighly spoke of the voters’ opinions and shared their views onshortcomings and weakness of the NA and authorities at all levels,difficulties in the people’s living conditions./.

Sharing Vietnam’s achievements, Thanh noted that women account for nearly one-third of Vietnam’s National Assembly members; 40% of Vietnam’s STEM workforce is female; 26.5% of businesses in the country are owned by women; women account for 68.5% of the country’s labour force, surpassing the global average of 48.7% and 14.4% of Vietnam’s peacekeepers are women, higher than the UN average of 10.2%.
