At a meeting in Hanoi on Oct. 22 with EUAmbassador Sean Doyle, head of the EU delegation to Vietnam , whopaid him a farewell visit at the end of his term of office, PresidentSang hailed the development of the Vietnam-EU relations in all aspects,including the ambassador’s contributions.
The President thanked the EU for its support for Vietnam to early fulfill some millennium development goals.
He said he wishes Ambassador Doyle continue to promote the EU-Vietnam and EU-ASEAN relations in the future.
AmbassadorDoyle said that EU nations always value Vietnam ’s role. He assuredthat the ties in economics, trade, investment and other fields betweenthe EU and Vietnam would be enhanced although the bloc is facingdifficulties at this time.
Also the same day, President Sang metwith Iranian Ambassador Seyed Javad Ghanvam Shahidi, who came to bidfare well before of ending his term of office in Vietnam.
Basedon the present relations, Vietnam and Iran can be optimistic about thefuture of bilateral ties, especially in trade and investment, thePresident said, adding he highly valued the education exchange programmebetween the two countries.
Vietnam is looking forward to the Non-Aligned Movement Conference to be held in Iran in 2012, President Sang added.
AmbassadorSeyed Javad Ghanvam Shahidi thanked Vietnam’s relevant agencies forcreating conditions for him to fulfill his mission, affirming that spacefor bilateral cooperation need to be expanded, with the exchange ofhigh-level delegations as the first thing.
He highly valued the economic cooperation mechanism through the joint committee.
Iran and Vietnam have signed four documents and been working to draft other documents, including a roadmap for trade.
The diplomat affirmed he will continue to do his best to make contributions to the Vietnam-Iran ties’ development./.
