Human trafficking has long been such a great fear for all people in the Northwest region that everyone has a story to tell.

About young girls in their families just disappear.

Le Duc Hien, Vice Head of the Department for Social Vices Prevention under the Ministry of Labours, War Invalids and Social Affairs said, nearly 80 percent of the female victims ended up either being sexual abused or forced to be married with men abroad.

Human traffickers form cross-border and inter-province gangs with increasingly cunning and tricky tricks, taking advantage of family neglect and school mismanagement to approach naïve women.

They take advantage of credulity of many women in need or target teenagers who are lazy and naughty, convince them that they would be matched with Chinese men, but in fact they sell the victims to whorehouses or abusing establishments.
