HCM City (VNA) – A series of expositions, namelyMetalex Vietnam, Welding Vietnam, and Robot X HCMC, opened at the SaigonExhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City on October 10.

The three-day expos attract more than 500 brands from 25countries showcasing their machine tools and metalworking solutions, weldingtechnologies, and industrial robots for factory automation.

The scale of this year’s event is 30 percent larger thanthat of 2018. It also features an engineer master class 2019 and a businessmatching event by the Tokyo SME Support Center, among other activities.

Vu Trong Tai, general director of Reed Tradex CompanyLimited – organiser of the show, said the Vietnamese market has seen anincreasing demand for automation technologies and improved productionstandards, creating challenges for domestic producers in keeping themselves updatedon the latest solutions and technologies.

The series of expos have been held for more than a decade asa destination for domestic and foreign producers learn about new technologiesand trends in the support industry.

K. Srikar Reddy, Indian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City,lauded the expos, saying India is proud to be its partner country. The exposcreate an opportunity for Indian mechanical producers to introduce theirproducts to Vietnamese and international customers, he said./.

HCM City to use municipal budget for Metro Line No. 2 project

The Metro Line No. 2 project has an estimated investment of nearly 47.9 trillion VND (2 billion USD) and has nearly completed land clearance, at 99.8%. The NA’s Resolution 188 authorises HCM City to develop seven metro lines spanning 355 kilometres over the next decade, with preliminary total investment for the 2025-2035 phase estimated at 40.2 billion USD.
