Hanoi (VNA) – The Wei Yu Engineering Limited Company from Taiwan (China) has sought licences for its projects on breeding, food industry and seaport construction, totalling 2.5 billion USD in the north central coast Ha Tinh province’s Vung Ang Economic Zone.

The project on breeding and food industry is proposed to have an investment of 1 billion USD. It will involve poultry breeding and vegetable farming on an area of 800 hectares, and the construction of manufacturing factories.

The other on seaport development is to cost 1.5 billion USD. It is proposed to build wharfs at Vung Ang port and a 96.8 hectares logistic area, reported Sai Gon Giai phong newspaper.

These projects are said to employ 10,000 local people in the first phase and expected to provide a total 30,000 jobs in the remaining phases.

According to the provincial Planning and Investment, the two projects are suitable with the locality’s economic development plant.

However, the company’s proposals have yet to identify environmental treatment measures.

The projects are being carefully scrutinized by local relevant authorities.-VNA
