Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam Province) is a very special pagoda with majestic scenery, facing a lake and leaning against a mountain.
The pagoda is constructed by many skilled craftsmen of Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. The current Tam Chuc pagoda is rebuilt on the base of an ancient pagoda, dating back nearly 1,000 years ago.
Especially, Tam Chuc Pagoda has three Buddha statues that are made of black bronze with gold-plated Bodhi leaves behind, weighing up to 200 tonnes each.
The pagoda’s Guan Yin shrine has a monolithic bronze statue, having a weight of 100 tonnes.
Walls of the shrine are combined from 12,000 reliefs that made of volcanic rocks, depicting tales and legends of Buddha’s life, from the time of his birth, enlightenment, delivering sermons and entering Nirvana./.
