To avoid the spread of disease tobordering areas, Tay Ninh province has urged Kom Pong Cham authoritiesto strictly control the ill livestock and not allow the transport ofcattle from the epidemic areas across the border into Vietnam, saidNguyen Thai Son, Deputy Director of the provincial Department ofAgriculture and Rural Development.
The provincehas also asked police, customs, border guard and market managementforces as well as the people’s committees of border districts tostrengthen coordination in preventing illegal cross-border cattletransport.
From September 15 to October 20, theprovince will conduct an inoculation against blood infections and FMD onits livestock.
According to the Cambodian side,by September 14, Kom Pong Cham province had around 14,000 cattleaffected by FMD, including nearly 400 deaths./.
