Tay Ninh (VNA) – In a positive step for conservation efforts, two endangered Java pangolins (Manis javanica) were released back into the wild in the southern province of Tay Ninh on July 4, according to local rangers.

The pangolins, a priority species for protection due to their endangered status, were previously captured and surrendered by residents several days ago.

Joining the pangolins on their return to the wild were three monkeys. The released primates included a long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) and two pig-tailed macaques (Macaca leonina), both classified as endangered and rare species. These monkeys had reportedly been causing disturbances in residential areas before being captured by local rangers./.
