Hanoi (VNA) - All Vietnamese tennis players were ousted from the Vietnam Men’s Futures F7 in Binh Duong Province on October 21.
The host’s top hope Ly Hoang Nam was defeated 5-7, 4-6 by No 3 seed Masato Shiga of Japan in the singles quarter-finals.
Nam and teammate Nguyen Hoang Thien withdrew from the doubles semi-finals, giving their rivals Francis Casey Alcantara of France and David Agung Susanto of Indonesia a walkthrough to the final.
In other matches on October 21, qualifier Rhett Purcell of Great Britain won 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 over No 2 seed Laurent Rochette of France; No 8 seed Noh Sang-woo of the Republic of Korea beat qualifier David Nguyen of the US 6-7 (6), 6-0, 6-2; and Canadian Kelsey Stevenson trounced Stefan Skadarka of Australia 6-2, 6-1.-VNA
