The Poor Veteran Support Fund of Ho Chi Minh City on January 10 gave presents to residents on Ly Son Island, the central province of Quang Ngai, with the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the biggest festival of the year, only weeks away.
The donation included 1,000 gift packages worth 1 million VND each and 10 tonnes of rice.
The activity was part of the fund’s “Tet for the poor” programme to help people in disaster-prone areas overcome difficulties at this time of celebration.
On this occasion, the fund also sent Tet greetings to officers of the Ly Son Border Guard Post.-VNA
