The Party General Secretary has suggested that Phu Luong district of the northern mount province of Thai Nguyen focus on human resources, infrastructure and socio-cultural development.

The Party leader, Nong Duc Manh, who was accompanied by the Thai Nguyen National Assembly deputies, made the statement while meeting with officials, Party members and voters of Phu Luong district in Thai Nguyen province on April 28.

Manh highlighted Thai Nguyen’s socio-economic development efforts, contributing to the nation’s overall development.

He that proposed the local people implement State and Party policies to successfully fulfil all socio-economic targets set out by the 10th National Party Congress’s Resolution.

The Party chief also asked Thai Nguyen to well-exploit its human resources, as the province is home to the country’s big university training centre.

Phu Luong district should bring into play its internal strengths, he said, adding that the district needs to focus on environmental protection while effectively tapping mineral resources.

While meeting with voters of eastern mountain Tuc Tranh commune of Phu Luong district, Party General Secretary Manh suggested Phu Luong district select Tuc Tranh as a new rural construction model.

Tuc Tranh must consider its traditional craft of tea-making as an advantage and should take measures to make it more sophisticated, thus elevating the reputation of Thai Nguyen tea on the market.

Apart from zoning off tea growing regions, he said that Tuc Tranh needs to invest more in science and technology to improve the quality of its tea as well as output, turning Tuc Tranh into the ‘tea basket’ of the province and the entire country.

At these meetings, the Thai Nguyen NA deputies’ delegation reported on the tentative agenda of the 12th NA legislature’s seventh session.

Voters proposed that the delegation pay attention to building a new rural area and increasing investment in disadvantaged regions as well as policies on finance and credit and to attract technical and farm promotion cadres to work in the province./.
