Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the construction of high-speed trains connecting Bangkok with famous tourist sites and invited the private sector to participate in the project.

ThePrime Minister on February 12 said the high-speed train project fromBangkok to Pattaya or Hua Hin might be a joint venture in aPublic-Private Partnership (PPP). Thai and foreign investors were bothwelcomed, said the premier.

Tracks of the high speed trains are expected to be constructed in parallel with the 1m or 1.453m tracks.-VNA

KPDN Enforcement Director Azman Adam said on May 10 that authorities had made 161 arrests, with the total value of seized goods estimated at 23.17 million MYR (5.9 million USD). Diesel-related offences accounted for the largest number of cases at 249, followed by petrol-related violations with 119 cases.
