The Phnom Penh Post reported that residents in Khmarak Phoumin city, Koh Kong province have spent a great deal on clean water from Thailand for daily use during the dry season from March – May.

The Cambodian Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology forecast that this year’s dry season will last till late May with temperatures as high as 42 Celsius degrees.

The ministry’s spokesperson said the provinces of Battambang, Koh Kong, Prey Veng, Kampong Thom, Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear are likely to be hard hit by drought.
