Thailand is going to cooperate with other neighbouring countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam in drawing up an action plan to protect intellectual-property rights (IPR) in each nation.
The Thai Intellectual Property Department expects to sign memoranda of understanding with those countries so that each will suppress IPR violations on both sides, the department’s director-general Pajchima Tanasanti said.
The department recently signed a MoU with Vietnam and is set to sign another with Cambodia. It will also ink MoUs with Laos and Myanmar in the near future.
Under the action plan, Thailand and neighbouring countries will help suppress IPR violations, register for protection of IPR, prevent infringement, exchange experience and knowledge in IPR crackdowns, and draft rules.-VNA
