Thailand - Japan High Level Joint Commission meets
Bangkok (VNA/NNT) - Thailand’s Deputy Foreign Minister Virasakdi Futrakul has co-chaired the second Thailand - Japan High Level Joint Commission with Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the deputy minister suggested the commission revisit and support cooperation between Thailand and Japan, on the occasion of their 130-year anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
Both sides are aiming to
boost cooperation on economy, trade and investment, human resources
development, infrastructure, agriculture, coal energy, and the Dawei Special
Economic Zone.
Deputy minister Virasakdi
also emphasizes the importance of building infrastructure that will connect the
CLMVT with India.
The high-level meeting was initiated following Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak's visit to Japan in November 2015.-VNA/NNT
