As many as 80 Thai leading enterprises will showcase their products and services, ranging from food, cosmetics, household appliances, to garments to home decors at Thailand Week 2015 in Yangon City, Myanmar from January 15-18.
The four-day event will be Thailand’s first exhibition in Myanmar. It is organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion with a view to establishing business relations between Thai and Myanmar businesses.
Thailand plans to hold a similar exhibition in Mandalay city, the second largest city in Myanmar, in late August to boost trade promotion and bilateral investment.
Dubbed the “Land of Golden Pagodas”, Thailand is an important partner of Myanmar, with two-way trade reaching 5.7 billion USD in 2014.
By September 2014, Thailand invested in 80 projects worth 10.2 billion USD or 20.46 percent of the total foreign investments in Myanmar.-VNA
