Theinformation was recently announced by President of the Thai Institute for thePromotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) Dr. ThatchaiSumitra.
He said that competitors from 76 nations will take part in the event, whichwill honor Princess Chulabhorn, who is known for her scientific prowess.
Thatchaisaid four local students from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School,TriamUdomSuksa School, and MahidolWittayanusorn School, will reportedly competein the event.
Accordingto the President, being the host of such a prestigious competition signifiesthe international community’s recognition of Thailand’s academic competence,while encouraging local students to become more competitive to lead thedevelopment of quality human resources in the future.
The 49thInternational Chemistry Olympiad will be held at the Salaya campus of MahidolUniversity in NakhonPathum province from June 6-15.-VNA
