The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand is preparing to hold the 10th International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) Conference in 2013.

The event will be held during November 12 - 19, 2013 in Chon Buri province. The main objective of the conference is to provide a stage for those involved in the development of young farmers to exchange ideas and to strengthen their networks in the IFYE member countries.

The conference will be attended by 1,770 people, comprising 1,100 Thai representatives and 670 counterparts from 75 other nations. According to Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Theera Wongsamut, the ministry will use an allocation from the 2013 budget for the preparations of the event, and will spend another allocation from Fiscal 2014 on organising the event.

Minister Theera added that Thailand, as host country, has planned a number of important activities, including exhibitions to promote the King’s self-sufficiency economy and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s projects on farm youth development, as well as seminars, and agricultural product displays.-VNA/NNT
