Bangkok (VNA) – At least two parcels containing eight M67 grenades and many bullets were discovered on June 2 at a private courier shop in Phahon Yothin Road, Bang Khen district, Bangkok, Thailand, according to the country’s police.
The grenades have 5-10 metre killing radius and are able to explode, according to explosive disposal experts.
Names of sender and recipient were written on the parcels but their identities could not be verified. The parcels will be returned to the point of origin after seven days with no recipient.
Colonel Piyapong Klinphan, a National Council for Peace and Order spokesman, said the investigation found the sender was a corporal and asked people not to panic.
Previously, on May 22, a blast occurred at the military hospital Phramongkutklao in Ratchthewi, Bangkok, injuring at least 24 people. Some 50 suspects were arrested for interrogation. - VNA
