Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand's exports rose for eight consecutive months in February and are beyond expectation, the Ministry of Commerce said on March 21.
Exports, a key driver of the Thai economy, jumped 14.0% last month from a year earlier, above a forecast rise of 9.7% in a poll and following January's 13.6% increase, the Bangkok Post reported.
Minister of Commerce Pichai Naripthaphan said at a press briefing that trade and investment are flowing in and free trade negotiations will help boost exports. He forecast that exports could grow an annual 10% in the first quarter.
In 2024, Thailand's exports rose 5.4% to a record high of 301 billion USD. The ministry has forecast a rise of 2% to 3% this year./.
