Hanoi (VNA) – The Philippine Department of Health (DOH) on February 21 reported that there are more than 43,000 dengue cases recorded all over the country as of February 15.
“The total number of dengue cases from January to February 15, 2025, well ahead of the usual wet or rainy season in June, is now at 43,732,” DOH said in a statement, as cited by Inquirer.
The agency noted that this is a 56% increase from the 27,995 cases logged in the same period last year.
The DOH also said that the high count may be found most in three regions that account for more than half of cases nationwide.
Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) logged 9,111 cases; the National Capital Region with 7,551 cases; and Central Luzon with 7,362 cases. /.
