Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has rejected accusations of standing behind bloody attacks in Thailand and being a threat to the nation as well as the Thai Royal family.
In a post on Facebook on March 31, Thaksin, who was ousted by a military coup in 2006 and is living in exile abroad, affirmed that he is loyal to the Royal family and supports the constitutional monarchy.
However, he also declared that he does not want to be included in a reconciliation process being promoted by the country's ruling junta.
He also opposed blames on him relating in campaigns to overthrow the constitutional monarchy in Thailand.
Political situation of Thailand has been on crisis since 2006 when Thaksin was ousted. The administrations led by former PM Abhisit Vejjajiva and Thaksin’s sister Yingluck Shinawatra, also faced protests by opposite forces.-VNA
