Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The Thanh Tam Bamboo Ecopark was inaugurated in Lam Son-Sao Vang urban area, in Tho Xuan district, the central province of Thanh Hoa on September 27.
The project is part of the province’s plan to develop bamboo during 2015-2020 with vision until 2030.
Thanh Tam Bamboo Ecopark is built at the total cost of some 1.2 trillion VND (51.6 million USD), with 200-300 billion VND (8.6-12.9 million USD) invested during 2017-2019, and about 800 billion VND -1 trillion VND (34.4-43 million USD) during 2020-2025. Spanning 160 hectares over Xuan Bai, Tho Xuong and Xuan Phu communes in Tho Xuan district, and Tho Thanh commune in Thuong Xuan district, the project aimed to connect organic agriculture, high-tech agriculture and building of new style rural areas.
When operational, the project is expected to help protect the environment, promote sustainable development, and make significant contributions to the local socio-economy and tourism development. Also, it will protect and branch out precious bamboo plants in the country and the region.
As planned, completion has been made in legal procedures, technical infrastructure, roads and supporting systems like power system, eco lake and parking lot.
The project includes bamboo reception houses designed by famous architect Vo Trong Nghia, Lam Son high-tech agriculture, Lam Son green shopping mall, flower gardens and organic orchard gardens.
President of the World Bamboo Organisation Michael Abadie affirmed that the Thanh Tam Bamboo ecopark is an original project, adding that bamboo has opened new opportunities for economic and tourism development while helping reduce natural disasters.-VNA
