Three arrested with 9kg of meth, 2,000 drug pills in Ha Tinh

Nine kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine and 2,000 meth pills were seized after three drug traffickers were arrested in Huong Son district of the central province of Ha Tinh on February 15 evening.

Ha Tinh (VNA) – Nine kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine and 2,000 methpills were seized after three drug traffickers were arrested in Huong Sondistrict of the central province of Ha Tinh on February 15 evening.

Previously thesame day, local police and the Drug Crime Police Department under the Ministryof Public Security detected Nguyen Thanh Trung, residing in Huong Son district,who was travelling with his two accomplices in two pickup trucks on NationalRoad 8C from Laos.

Trung attemptedto run away when he was being chased by the police. However, at about 7:30pm,all three smugglers were arrested and brought to Ha Tinh police headquarters.

The men were partof a trafficking ring from Laos into Vietnam through Cau Treo international bordergate in Ha Tinh province.
