The 8th short film-making contest for Vietnamese students has selected three works to represent Vietnam at the 2014 Asia International Children Film Festival to be held in Minamiawaji, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in November this year.
The three short films were selected among 31 entries submitted by students nationwide to the contest, which was organized by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam in association with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Education and Training.
The movie entitled “Bottle of Medicine” by Birla Children’s Village (Hanoi) won first place, while the second and third prize went to “Grandma’s smile- A dream” by Thang Long junior high school in Hanoi and “Aspiration” by Phan Chu Trinh junior high school also in Hanoi, respectively.
According to an official from the Ministry of Education and Training, the contest was an opportunity for Vietnamese students to express their creativity on issues relevant to them as well as life lesson.
Moreover, it served as a platform for recreational activities and help students explore their ability in the movie industry.
The contest was initiated by Japan-Vietnam Special Friendship Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro.-VNA
