Thua Thien Hue lays 14 sets of martyrs’ remains to rest

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – The MilitaryHigh Command of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue held a ceremony at theHue city Martyrs’ Cemetery on May 5 to receive and rebury 14 sets of remains ofVietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during wartime.

In the 2020-2021 dry season, despiteimpacts of COVID-19 pandemic, 30 soldiers and officers of Team 192 under theprovincial Military High Command coordinated with the Lao side to search andrepatriate 14 sets of remains from Laos.

Of the total, nine were found in Salavanprovince and five in Sekong province.

The search and repatriation of the remainsof Vietnamese martyrs killed in Laos is an important policy of the Party andState, showing the gratitude and respect to those who fought and sacrificedtheir lives for national protection and international mission.

So far, Team 192 has sought and repatriatedmore than 800 sets of martyrs’ remains./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
