Tien Phong Marathon 2019 held in Ba Ria – Vung Tau

The Tien Phong Marathon 2019, the 60th of its kind, was held in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on March 24.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau (VNA) – The Tien Phong Marathon2019, the 60th of its kind, was held in the southern province of BaRia – Vung Tau on March 24.

Co-organised by the Tien Phong newspaper, the VietnamAthletics Federation and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, theevent attracted nearly 2,000 local and foreign athletes, including over 200professional ones competing in 42,195km, 21km, 10km and 5km events.

About 1,000 others, including students, youths, armedforces, workers and civil cadres also joined the run.

After nearly four hours of competition, the first prize wentto Binh Phuoc team while the second prize was won by Bac Giang team and thethird prize to Ba Ria – Vung Tau team.

Members of the national athletics team also won gold medalsat the events, including Bui The Anh, Nguyen Van Lai, Do Quoc Luat and Pham ThiHong Le.-VNA
