Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on February 26 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, the governing body of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, extending their partnership until 2028.

The agreement builds on previous successes, with the aim of further enhancing Vietnam's football landscape.

A major initiative under this renewed partnership is the "Bundesliga Dream" project, which focuses on improving the quality of Vietnam’s youth national teams, thus fostering greater international success.

Under the MoU, the Bundesliga and its clubs will provide technical expertise, sports science, and medical support to the VFF, aiming to boost performance across all levels of Vietnamese football. This includes the exchange of coaches and medical staff, as well as the promotion of youth and women’s football development.

Since March 2022, the VFF and Bundesliga have been working together on comprehensive football development, focusing on talent identification and systematic training to nurture the next generation of Vietnamese football stars.

At the signing ceremony, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan praised the strategic partnership, calling it a significant milestone that opens new opportunities for Vietnamese football. He highlighted the Bundesliga’s rich history, world-class standards, and structured youth training system, emphasising that it is an ideal partner for Vietnam’s football ambitions.

Peer Naubert, Managing Director of Bundesliga International GmbH, remarked that the collaboration builds on the strong foundation of initiatives both organisations have undertaken in recent years. He stated that their primary goal is to elevate Vietnamese football and continue its development at all levels.

He also noted that the partnership between the Bundesliga and the VFF extends beyond men's football, encompassing women’s football as well./.
