Hanoi (VNA)– Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong on April 10 emphasisedthe important role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in strengthening nationalsolidarity, building unity, and bringing the support of foreign nations intofull play.

Meeting with the VFFCentral Committee Presidium in Hanoi on April 10, Trong exchanged views with presidiummembers on several issues related to corruption fight, how to improve thebusiness and investment environment, methods of attracting more resources fromoverseas Vietnamese, and encouraging revolutionary veterans and intellectualsto participate in policy consultation and criticism.

VFF Central CommitteePresident Tran Thanh Man said that last year, dissemination work was reformed,with the collection of people’s ideas and aspirations to be submitted to Partyand State offices implemented more effectively.

The VFF collected atotal of 6,943 ideas and proposals from people across the nation which werereported at the fifth and sixth sessions of the 14th National Assembly.

Campaigns such as “Allpeople unite to build new-style rural areas and civilised urban areas” and“Vietnamese people prioritise made-in-Vietnam products” attracted widespread activeparticipation, Man stated, adding that many people took part in movements tosupport disadvantaged people.

This year, the VFFwill prioritise work in understanding people’s aspirations, solving urgentissues arising in the community, speeding up patriotic emulation movements tofulfill socio-economic development goals, and increase the quality of socialcriticism and supervision.–VNA

Vietnam, Laos boost youth cooperation, education

The Lao Vice President asked the Central Committees of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) to continue enhancing coordination to effectively implement their 2022–2027 cooperation agreement, especially in youth exchanges and education of younger generations about the countries’ traditional ties.
