Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan lauded the Van Phu – Invest Investment Joint Stock Company for its contributions to the community while meeting with the company’s leaders on February 19.
At the meeting, Nguyen Huy Hoang, head of the company’s trade union, presented 7 billion VND (301,000 USD) to build a primary school in Dong Son commune, Hoanh Do district, the northern province of Quang Ninh, 6 billion VND to build a social work centre which cares orphans and children affected by Agent Orange/dioxin in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, and 10 billion VND to the Fund for Poor Patients in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre.
Earlier, the company also carried out a lot of activities to support the construction of health care centres and the purchase of medical equipment to serve poor patients in far-flung areas, as well as social welfare funds in different localities.
Speaking highly of the company’s contributions, the top legislator wished the company in particular and the business community in general gain greater achievements in production and business and continue sharing their successes with the society.
She requested the localities and units which receive the assistance to use it effectively and correctly to help disadvantaged people.-VNA
