Thai Nguyen (VNA) – A tourist site will be built near the Nui Coc Lake in the northern province of Thai Nguyen with an investment of about 15 trillion VND (675 million USD).

Addressing a groundbreaking ceremony held in the province on February 17, Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang said the construction of the tourist site connecting with the ATK Dinh Hoa special national historical relic and Viet Bac historical relic sites, will create an international-level cultural tourism complex to lure more visitors at home and abroad.

The Minister urged local authorities to review and complete proper planning in line with the common tourism planning of other provinces in the region, while coordinating with the investor to deal with land clearance, so that the project can be put into operation as soon as possible.

Relevant ministries and sectors such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Ministry of Construction; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; and the Ministry of Planning and Investment need to facilitate the implementation of the project to ensure its progress, quality, and efficiency.

The Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise – which is responsible for building the tourist site, must strictly follow its commitments relating to the project and focus all financial resources to implement the project as scheduled.

The project aims to connect the tourist site near Nui Coc Lake with other historical relics such as ATK Dinh Hoa, Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang province), and Ba Be Lake (Bac Kan province), which will create a chain of ecological, spiritual, and historical tourist sites linking with Hanoi and looking towards UNESCO’s recognition as a world cultural and natural heritage site.

Nui Coc Lake includes a spiritual area featuring temples of three holy mothers (Lieu Hanh, Son Lam, and Thoai Phu) and three saints (Cao Son, Quy Minh Dai Vuong, and Tran Hung Dao), along with a guest reception centre, a five-star hotel, a 36-hole golf course, and an area of ethnic cultural villages.

With a width of 2,600 ha and a depth of 50m, Nui Coc Lake is an interesting eco-tourism destination. The lake comprises 89 islets; some are covered with trees, some with flocks of storks, and others with mountain goats.-VNA
