Quang Ninh (VNA) – After two days being stranded on Co To island in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh due to bad weather caused by tropical storm Talas, all 3,500 tourists were brought ashore on July 18.
Le Hong Thang, Director of the Quang Ninh Domestic Waterway Port Authority, said that all tourist vessels from the mainland to Co To were allowed to operate normally from 6:00 am of July 18 after the weather condition become stable.
Earlier, storm Talas, the second of its kind hitting the country so far this year, forced all tourist ships in Quang Ninh to halt operation for safety reason, leaving about 3,500 tourists stranded, including 14 foreigners.
During their stay in Co To, the tourists received support in terms of accommodation and other services.-VNA
