Traditional village makes about 468,600 Chung cakes before Tet
Tranh Khuc village in Hanoi’s Thanh Tri district is estimated to make about 468,600 banh chung (square glutinous rice cake) ahead of the 2018 Lunar New Year.

Bookworm bookstore together with the Hanoi Cooking Centre will put on an afternoon of jazz music, traditional banh chưng (sticky rice cake) making and to he (toy figurine) sculpting in the run-up to Tet.
Cultural activities featuring traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) activities and a special organic produce market will be held at a Spring Festival in downtown Hanoi from February 2-8.
In the days leading up to Tet, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi will host an open-air bazaar featuring more than a dozen stalls selling gourmet foods and beverages, designer clothing and handmade gifts.
Two thousand Chung cakes (a cake made from glutinous rice traditionally dedicated to Lunar New Year – Tet) will be made on February 5-7 under a charity programme to help the poor.
