Traffic accidents kill 81 in new year’s first three days

As many as 160 traffic accidents, mainly road crashes, were reported across the country in the first three days of the New Year, claiming 81 lives and injuring 97 others.

On January 3 alone, 61 trafficaccidents killed 34 people and injured 38 others, according to theNational Committee for Traffic Safety.

Also on the day, trafficpolice handled 4,726 traffic law violations, collecting a total ofnearly 1.97 billion VND (90,500 USD) in fines and seizing 14 cars and1,244 motorbikes.-VNA
