Truong Son Dong road’s section in Lam Dong completed

The Ministry of Defence held a ceremony on March 6 to put into trial operation a section of the Truong Son Dong road project, which runs from Da Lat City to Lac Duong district in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.

With a total length of 60 km, the asphalt and cementroad is built at a cost of 900 billion VND (42.3 million USD). It liesat one end of the 657km-long route, which will connect four CentralHighland provinces – Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Lam Dong - and thecentral coastal provinces of Quang Ngai, Phu Yen and Quang Nam.

Thesame day, a working group of the National Assembly Standing Committeeworked with the project’s investor, relevant sectors and leaders of LamDong province on the implementation of the project.

According tothe investor, as many as 460 km of the Truong Son Dong road projecthave been completed, linking five provinces of Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, GiaLai, Phu Yen and Dak Lak, and facilitating poverty reduction in remoteareas.

The Truong Son Dong road, with an investment of 10trillion VND (470 million USD), will play an important role in promotingsocio-economic development and ensuring security and defence in thecentral region.-VNA

HCM City to use municipal budget for Metro Line No. 2 project

The Metro Line No. 2 project has an estimated investment of nearly 47.9 trillion VND (2 billion USD) and has nearly completed land clearance, at 99.8%. The NA’s Resolution 188 authorises HCM City to develop seven metro lines spanning 355 kilometres over the next decade, with preliminary total investment for the 2025-2035 phase estimated at 40.2 billion USD.
