Theannouncement was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Minister ofScience and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Minister of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment Nguyen Xuan Cuong, leaders of the youth union and major companiesin Vietnam.
Thetalk show format will air on VTV1 every Friday evening from April 14 andrebroadcast Saturday afternoon.
Anotherprogramme titled “Startup Coffee” will air from April 10 every morning as partof the programme “Good Morning” on VTV1.
VTVDirector General Tran Binh Minh said the programme producers wanted to delivera message on startups, which is "Renovation is continuous and enduring.It’s not just a movement but a path for the nation to follow."
Hesaid successful businessmen would be invited to “Startup Nation” to shareexperiences and comment on startup models or business trends in Vietnam andacross the world. They could then suggest or invest in promising startup ideas.
TheTV programme is part of the Government’s mission to make Vietnam a nation ofstartups.
FirstSecretary of HCM Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong said the youth wouldapplaud the new programme, which offers them an opportunity to present theirstartup dreams, and make those dreams a reality.
Phongsaid the youth expected relevant agencies to hear their ideas and suggestionsthanks to the TV programme and subsequently timely adjust policies to supportthem.
Inthe first quarter of this year, 26,478 new enterprises were established in Vietnam,a record number in the last six years.
Lastyear, Vietnam recorded the establishment of 110,100 new enterprises, thehighest number compared with the previous years. Last year is the first timethe country had more than 100,000 new enterprises in one year, which is said tobe the result of the Government’s strong promotion of startups.
