Two primary schools have been put into operation in Long My district in the southern province of Hau Giang as part of project 3E (Educate, Enrich and Employ) initiated by ANZ Bank and the Saigon Children’s Charity.
Within the framework of the project, a first two-class kindergarten was inaugurated in August to welcome over 70 children to the 2014-2015 academic year.
The fourth school in the project is scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of this month.
Launched in November 2013, the three-year community education programme aims to provide access to quality schooling in a sustainable way to over 4,000 disadvantaged children in the Long My district, Hau Giang province.
The Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC) is a UK non-governmental organisation operating in Vietnam for about 20 years. It builds schools, award scholarships, provide access to vocational training and support organisations working with disabled children.-VNA
