The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) have been listed among the top 1,000 universities in 82 countries in the 2020 QS World rankings.

HCM City (VNA) – The VietnamNational University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Vietnam National University, Ho ChiMinh City (VNU-HCM) have been listed among the top 1,000 universities in 82countries in the 2020 QS World rankings.

The VNU-HCM was among the 701st - 750th groupfor the second consecutive year, belonging in the 66 percent of the world’sbest universities. This year, the university’s Academic Reputation criteria jumped70 places to the 427th spot.

Meanwhile, the VNU Hanoi remained in the801st - 1000th place.

Three US universities – The MassachusettsInstitute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, and the UK’sUniversity of Oxford held the top positions in the rankings.

In the QS World University Rankings,universities worldwide are evaluated according to the following six metrics ofAcademic Reputation (40 percent), Employer Reputation (10 percent),Faculty/Student Ratio (20 percent), Citations per faculty (20 percent),International Faculty Ratio and International Student Ratio (5 percent each).

The QS World University Rankings, firstlaunched in 2004, is an annual publication of university rankings byLondon-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

Being the only international ranking tohave received International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval, the QSranking is viewed as one of the three most widely-read university rankings inthe world, along with the Academic Ranking of World Universities and the TimesHigher Education World University Rankings.-VNA

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). The provincial licensing rate for fishing activities has reached 81.94%, while 99% of local vessels required to install vessel monitoring systems (VMS) have complied.

A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.

Tay Ninh strives to eliminate temporary houses by Q2
