Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam National University - Hanoi on February 28 announced that its three training branches have been named in the world top 500-600 by education organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
The three are physics and astronomy; computer science and information system; mechanical engineering, aviation and manufacturing.
The physics and astronomy discipline was on the list of top 501st-550th in the world. Meanwhile, the computer science and information system and mechanical engineering and aviation were rated between the 551st-600th and 451st-500th, respectively.
The Vietnam National University - Hanoi and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology are only two universities of Vietnam put in its rankings. The QS World University Rankings by Subject is built on four major criteria of employer reputation, academic reputation, citations per paper, and H-index citations.
Earlier in 2018, the Vietnam National University - Hanoi was the only university in Vietnam listed by the US News& World Report. It was ranked 502nd globally in Physics. Last year, the facility was listed among the 801st-1,000th group globally and 124th in Asia by QS.
On February 27, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology also announced that its three disciplines entered QS World University Rankings’ top list. The disciplines include Electrical Engineering and Electronics; Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering; and Computer Science and Information Systems.
In QS Asia 2019-2019 list, the university was named between 261st-270th position, up 30 places compared to the previous year.-VNA
