Hanoi (VNA) – Typhoon Tembin has weakened into a tropical low pressure, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

At 4am on December 26, the centre of the low pressure was in the waters offshore Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces with the strongest wind speed of 40-60km per hour.

In the next 12 hours, it will move west at a speed of 15-20km per hour.

The low pressure is forecast to bring heavy rains along the coast from Binh Dinh to Phu Yen, posing a risk of flash flood and landslides.

Before entering the East Sea, Tembin swept through Mindanao, the second biggest island of the Philippines, on December 22, with death toll now having risen to 240, according to latest reports.-VNA
