The UK attaches importance to developing its relations with Asia in general and Vietnam in particular as the country has increased its positive role in the international arena and is recovering well after the global financial crisis.

The statement was made by UK Ambassador to Vietnam Mark Kent at a press conference in Hanoi on August 30.

He stressed that the UK and Vietnam are working hard to build their strategic cooperation framework and want to further boost cooperation in such areas as politics and diplomacy, investment and trade, security and defence, sustainable development, education and people-to-people diplomacy./.
