Many university graduates in HCM City cannot find a job or areunderemployed, according to the HCM City's Centre for HumanResource Forecast and Labour Information.
Around80 percent of graduates are employed, but only half of them have jobsin their fields of study, said Tran Anh Tuan, deputy director of thecentre.
Half of employed university graduateshave to accept unstable jobs with low incomes, and 20 percent ofgraduates are unemployed, Tuan said.
The city'sunemployment rate is currently more than five per cent, as the economyhas not created enough jobs. In addition, many applicants do not meetjob qualifications.
The centre estimates therewill be 250,000-270,000 vacancies annually for 2014 and 2015. About130,000 new jobs will be created each year during the same period.
Trained employees account for 75 percent of recruitment demand, and untrained labourers, 25 percent.-VNA
